The Doughroom is a very solid neighborhood bar/restaurant in a part of town (Palms) without much of anything in the way of solid restaurants. The casual spot has good pizza (the goat cheese-topped Van Damme is a must), an excellent craft beer stock, plenty of TVs to catch the game, and half-off wine bottles on Tuesdays. If you’re looking for a no-frills midweek dinner in the Culver area, Doughroom is as good as it gets.

Mega Pizza and Grill
Mega Grill isn't great food, but sometimes you don't need over-sized delivery pizza to be great.

The Library Alehouse
If you’re a beer person on the Westside, The Library Alehouse in Santa Monica is your place.
Hinano Cafe is a Venice icon and the kind of place you go into for one drink and walk out plastered and maybe with a lower-back henna tattoo.
Village Tavern’s not fine dining but if you pick your dish right, you can still have a good time. And even if you pick your food wrong, this place is just too damn likeable for you to get too upset.
