Santa Monica Brew Works is perfect for nights when you want an excellent beer, a box of pizza, and would like to enjoy both those things somewhere other than your couch. Although it's in a slightly secluded location on Colorado Ave, it’s usually crowded with big groups day drinking and dates on a Friday night out. They’ve got a massive outdoor space complete with picnic tables, string lights, and an abundance of cute local dogs. The Brooklyn-based pizzeria Emmy Squared has recently stepped into the kitchen, serving their signature sheet pan pizzas that exist somewhere between Detroit-style and a New York grandma pie. You can combine pepperoni cups and fresh-hopped IPA at other taprooms in LA, but this spot is still a whole lot more fun than most other breweries in town right now.
