Ray’s

Tucked away in West LA is Ray’s, a bright red take-out window that serves hearty American fare, plus some Japanese and Mexican dishes thrown in the mix. This daytime spot sees a morning and lunchtime rush of people picking up burgers, breakfast burritos, and egg sandwiches stuffed with three types of cheese, but the specialty here is the chicken teriyaki. For under $15, you get a very large portion of chicken and grilled vegetables over rice drenched in a not-too-sweet teriyaki sauce (which we like). It’s good but probably not something worth telling your whole office about in a mass email––unless, that is, your coworkers need a quick, affordable lunch option.
