Where we've featured it
On the weekends, lines at this super-cute bakery can get long (like, limited-edition sneaker drop on Fairfax long), but with a little patience, you’ll be treated to the best baked goods in the area. There’s a small menu of rotating sandwiches, served on crusty baguettes and filled with everything from ham and gruyere to a slightly greener option, arugula and chives. You’ll definitely want a few pastries (we like the brioche buns, which are airy and light, like a butter-spun pillow), which are especially nice on a long drive or packed in a basket, ready for a picnic.
Atwater Village’s local bakery Proof has some great bread loaves, quiches, and croissants that you need to know about if you’re on the Eastside. Our favorite here is the brioche - it’s light, fluffy, and an ideal vessel for some butter and jam. Open daily for pick-up, 8am-4pm.
The lines at this cute Atwater bakery can get long on the weekends (we’re talking new-sneaker-store-on-Fairfax lengths), but with some planning and lots of patience, you’ll be treated to a treasure trove of pastries, croissants, and bread loaves. Rotating sandwiches come on crusty baguettes, ideal for long road trips or munching on at the park. Fluffy brioche buns are airy and light, and the chocolate chip cookies are what we wish every chocolate chip cookie tasted like - soft and sprinkled with sea salt. The energy here is friendly, neighborhood-ly (you’ll definitely see a young family or two that will either quell or fuel your baby fever), and is exactly the kind of place you should come after a long week of being cooped up in your apartment.
