Beer, beer, and more beer. Mohawk Bend has one of the finest (and most affordable) stocks of California beer in the city. But if you aren’t into the stuff, there are plenty of other reasons to stop by. The pretty impressive space used to be an old vaudeville theater and has a better-than-expected, vegan menu perfect for a casual date night. And for soaking up all those IPAs you’ve been drinking.

Honey Hi serves healthy, gluten-free food in Los Feliz. More importantly, it’s a great neighborhood cafe.

FishBar is a bar/seafood shack on the Northern edge of Manhattan Beach and one of the last truly local spots in the area.
Village Tavern’s not fine dining but if you pick your dish right, you can still have a good time. And even if you pick your food wrong, this place is just too damn likeable for you to get <i>too</i> upset.
The Father’s Office burger (in Santa Monica and Culver City) is amazing. If you don’t know that, you don’t get it.
