Hidden in a massive strip mall at Sunset and Crescent Heights, Kura isn’t as well-known as other West Hollywood sushi spots, but when you’re looking for something quick and affordable, you won’t find better quality fish for the price in the area. At lunchtime, their menu is stacked with specials ranging from $9 donburi bowls to sushi combo boxes that all fall under $13, but you’re here for one thing - the nigiri omakase. For $45, you get 10 pieces of premium nigiri sushi (everything from cherry blossom salmon to firefly squid), a handroll, miso soup, and salad. It’s an incredible value for any part of town, but particularly for the Sunset Strip.
