If you yearn for a simpler time, like when the term “Digital Avatar Instagram Influencer” didn’t exist, head to Game Over Pizza. This new arcade/bar/pizza parlor in Hollywood is all about ’80s and ’90s nostalgia, complete with neon furniture and games like NBA Jam and Street Fighter. But unlike their excellent arcade, their menu - from traditional mozzarella and pepperoni pies to the genuinely OK Boomer pizza (which comes topped with cremini mushrooms, chili flakes, and three types of cheese) - is pretty mediocre. Unlike the elevated bar snacks at Button Mash, the pizzas here aren’t particularly new or exciting, and often function more as a consolation prize for your date when you inevitably own them in air hockey.
