As soon as Fritzi opened in the Arts District, it immediately became the casual order-at-the-counter spot the neighborhood needed. No crazy lines or aggressive shtick, just a fun chicken-focused restaurant with good food (their rotisserie chicken can’t be beat) and a laid-back atmosphere that’ll get you in and out in under a half hour. Bonus: If you’re drinking next door at the Arts District Brewing, you can order anything off the Fritzi menu from there as well.

Venice Ale House
“Relaxed” and “Right off the Venice Boardwalk” aren’t words you hear together every day, but somehow Venice Ale House pulls it off.
Sibling Rival is a solid all-day restaurant (get the pancakes!) in DTLA’s Hoxton hotel.
