Blue Daisy

This small cafe is a nice casual option in downtown Santa Monica. The servers are super friendly, the food is solid and not too expensive, and there are people who actually live in the area here, not just tourists. There's often a wait, which may have something to do with their weekday-only bottomless brunch. Get the French Toast and the eggs scandia.
