We Love Takeout From Blessed Tropical Jamaican Cuisine

Everything you need to order from our favorite jerk chicken shop in LA.

Inglewood has one of the richest and most diverse culinary scenes in the city. In a matter of a few blocks, you can find restaurants serving Cuban, Somalian, Southern, Burmese, Nigerian, and Belizean food. In the mood for smoothies or vegan Tex-Mex? You can get them, too. We recommend spending as much time as possible trying all the food, but if you only have time for one place today, make it Blessed Tropical Jamaican Cuisine.

The family-run spot on S. Prairie Ave. (directly across from the looming new SoFi Stadium) serves the kind of delicious, soul-curing comfort food that works for absolutely any occasion. Family potluck in the park, beach day with some friends, or a night in with you and your houseplants - it doesn’t matter. This is food that tastes good and makes everybody feel even better. And that’s a gift we all need these days.

What to Order

Jerk Chicken - Plain and simple, this is our favorite jerk chicken in town. The meat itself is cooked perfectly, the house sauce on the side provides a punch without being overbearing, and at $12-14 (if you call them directly), it’s a steal considering one order can easily feed two adults.

Oxtail - Jerk chicken might be Blessed’s most popular item, but the oxtail is their specialty, and it’s a must-order. The stewed meat is soft, savory, and all but dissolves in your mouth before you even have time to comprehend how incredible it tastes.

Curry Goat - Admittedly not the easiest dish to show up to the beach with (though we continue to do it), Blessed’s curry goat might actually be our favorite thing on the menu. Chunky pieces of goat simmered in thyme, onions, ginger, garlic, and bright, turmeric-filled Jamaican curry - this is a dish we always finish eating and immediately regret not ordering more of.
