It’s not an SNL skit. It’s not a 30 Rock joke. It’s not just even a bad Twitter pun: Jon Hamm is making Hamm sandwiches. The Emmy Award-winning actor has teamed up with the excellent sandwich shop Ggiata Delicatessen on a sandwich bearing his name to benefit the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital.
The sandwich is a PB&J - just kidding. It’s thinly sliced ham with smoked provolone, heirloom tomatoes, pickled Fresno chilies, and aioli, served on charred ciabatta bread. For every sandwich sold, Hamm and Ggiata will donate a meal to the frontline workers at MLK Hospital in Compton.
Ggiata is a Pico-Union deli that opened earlier this year, gaining a ton of popularity for their takes on Italian-American classics like cold cut subs and chicken parm sandwiches.
More info on the collab can be found here, and if you just want to hear Don Draper’s dulcet tones describing deli meats, check out the video below.
