This weekend is one of celebration as Pride continues, Juneteenth festivities commence, and exciting restaurant pop-ups take place in almost every corner of the city.
Juneteenth festivities are happening throughout the city, but one of the most exciting is taking place downtown next to soul food spot, Comfort LA. Presented by Soul Of Noise, the Juneteenth Festival is a free event going down this Sunday, June 19th from 12-6pm. It will feature an array of live music, workshops, local vendors, food trucks, games, and much more.
On Monday, June 20th, Woon in Historic Filipinotown will be hosting Tóp Tép, a quarterly dinner series celebrating Vietnamese, and in particular, Hanoian cuisine. The special menu includes beef rolls, turmeric fish cups, chicken pho, and lemongrass limeade. Wine will be provided by Pinkies Up. The event runs from 5-9pm and all dishes will be available for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.
Mama LA is back this week with a brand new collaboration with Glendale legends Mini Kabob and Zhengyalov Hatz. Pre-orders start Wednesday, June 15th at noon and pick-up is happening Monday, June 20th at three locations throughout the city. Word of advice: Don’t wait, this will sell out.
Though the official LA Pride event was last weekend, Pride in LA is far from over. Saturday, June 18th is Queer Prom, a fundraising event going down from 5-9:30pm at Downtown’s Globe Theater. Expect talent shows, dance-offs, interactive photo booths, best dressed awards, and much more. General admission is $75, but VIP group tables go for up to $1,300. All proceeds benefit Equality Fashion Week, an LGBTQ+ focused fashion week in LA.
Lunetta Santa Monica is hosting their Wine & Vinyl event this Wednesday, June 15th from 7-9pm. Hosted by Satnam Singh Ramgotra, the event will include tons of music, half-off select wines, food pairings, and more. Snag your reservation here.
