This weekend we’re excited about food festivals, rock concerts, and bread. Well, we’re always excited about bread.
Taste Of The Eastside is back this weekend running from Friday, April 22nd to Sunday, April 24th. The multi-day festival will feature over a dozen different food and drink vendors including Amiga Amore, Clark Street Bakery, Frogtown Brewery, and much more. Also, 25% of all sales will be donated to Silver Lake'sRose Scharlin Cooperative Nursery School and Friends Of The LA River, two non-profit organizations that are based on the Eastside. Admission is free.
This weekend marks the return of LAT’s Festival Of Books. The two-day event runs from Saturday, April 23rd to Sunday, April 24th at USC’s main campus and will feature hundreds of different panels, exhibits, book signings, musical performances, and much more. General admission is free, but certain panels will require entrance fees. Afterwards, grab some food nearby at Holbox, Natraliart, or Yangban Society.
In celebration of 4/20, organic bakery Gusto Bread is offering several special packages including four different baked goods and cookies for $20, plus all hats and t-shirts discounted to $20 as well. The deals only run on Wednesday, April 20th from 8am-6pm.
Some of our favorite food in LA can be found in the sprawling San Fernando Valley, and spending a day exploring is a great way to spend a Saturday. Eat premium sushi in Studio City, empanadas in Burbank, Sri Lankan noodles in Northridge, and so much more.
If you’re itching to dance this weekend, head over to The Troubadour this Sunday, April 24th for Fan Girl Cafe, a night of female-fronted bands, video, art, and even puppets. Doors are 6pm and the event is open to all age groups. General admission is $22 and VIP is $55, which gets you a drink ticket and reserved seats.
While everyone else is dehydrating in the desert (again), take advantage of the low crowds and eat somewhere you haven’t yet. Camphor, RYLA, and Bar Moruno all still have available reservations throughout the weekend.
