A bar-cum-pub that doesn’t serve much in the way of food, scampi and bacon fries aside, seems like an odd one for us. But only the most experienced Yucatan regulars will know that this Stoke Newington football haven is more than happy for you to order in. Only if you ask nicely, and buy enough drinks, of course. So find a spot with a view of one of their many, many screens - this is the kind of place where there are more pixels than wall - and choose from excellent Turkish, pizza, or Jamaican (amongst others) that are all very close by.

The Good Egg
The breakfasts at The Good Egg are among the best in Stoke Newington. The best way to do it is to share with a few people family-style.
Oddono’s is a seriously good gelato spot with several locations in London. Their Stoke Newington spot is our favourite because it has indoor seating.

The Builder’s Arms is a great pub on a backstreet in Kensington, serving pretty good food and snacks.
The Lord Tredegar
The Lord Tredegar’s garden is an island of green in the concrete ocean of Mile End. It also serves good sharing boards, and tarted up classics.
The White Hart
The White Hart is where you go in Southwark for very cold beers, and not much else. Hit it up for an after-work drink.
