The Eagle

Some days you want it it all. You want a decent pint. You want amazing food. And you want this whilst wearing wearing your latest outfit from JD Sports. There’s only one place you can legitimately live out this fantasy in central London. And that place is The Eagle in Farringdon.

It’s a proper old school pub with proper old school values and basically, “they don’t make ’em like this anymore”. There are no gimmicks, no fancy tables and even the chairs don’t match. You come here with the people who know your darkest secrets, grab a proper drink at the bar and then when there’s a table open, order some food, sit down and get proper comfortable.

The kitchen is a trendy open one, but again there are zero gimmicks, and it fires out some of the most interesting and best tasting grub you’ll ever find in a London pub. Full stop. What you will see happening is a magical creation of Spanish-inspired comfort food. If it’s on the menu (which changes daily - check their Instagram or website) definitely grab the steak sandwich, because it’s a steal, even at £13.50, and, when coupled with a decent pint, and you in your trackies - is the ultimate definition of having it all.
