La Tazza
La Tazza is a no-nonsense all-day cafe on Praed Street where there are always a couple of builders wearing high-vis vests sat outside, and a bunch more digging into a serious-looking full English inside the basic, canteen-like room. It’s a dependable spot for a quick, satisfying lunch, where the salads are decorated with a smiley face using olives and cucumbers, and the football is often on the big screen. If you're hungry, get the hefty tuna and pepper-filled panini. It tastes homemade and is so filling you probably won’t finish the salad on the side. The long menu is also filled with stock images of penne arrabbiata and steak although we’ve never seen anyone order any of that.
