The original Kêu in Shoreditch is our favourite banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) place in London, and their City shop on London Wall is just as good as the original. The classic sandwich with mortadella and terrine is our go-to, but you can’t really go wrong with whatever you choose. Their rice bowls are good, too, if a bit pricey. There’s always a queue at lunch, but it moves quickly.
Viet Grill is a fun place for solid Vietnamese food in Shoreditch. Come for a group dinner before a night out.
Bleecker Burger in Victoria is not a place to linger, but it’s ideal for takeout or a quick bite to eat.
City Càphê is a Vietnamese lunch spot in the City, close to Bank station, with tasty noodles and summer rolls. The queue at lunch moves quickly.
Earl’s is an old-school deli and sandwich shop in the City of London that’s perfect for takeaway or a quick lunch.
