Jacuzzi
Jacuzzi walks the tightrope between glamorous and a bit tacky. Similar to its other loud, Big Mamma group siblings—like Circolo Popolare and Ave Mario—the Italian restaurant is decked out in chandeliers, booths designed for big birthdays and perfectly positioned for date night selfies, and such a large selection of indoor plants that we fear for local garden centres. The Kensington spot is pretty amazing, in an OTT caricature-of-Italy kind of way and suited waiters go the extra mile to make you feel special. The pizzas are pretty good but some of the food is all a bit much—raw tuna on warm puttanesca pasta, salsa verde paired with underwhelming lamb ragu. Despite the food ranging from “eh?” to “that’s actually decent”, it’s worth getting a booking to feel like a member of Donatella Versace’s posse for a few hours. You’d have to be actively attempting not to enjoy yourself to not have fun here.
