Chet’s, an LA-Thai-inspired restaurant in the lobby of The Hoxton in Shepherd’s Bush, feels too cool and exciting to be a hotel restaurant. It has a menu filled with Thai salads, smashburgers, and sharing plates with three chilli pepper signs next to them. Yes, a tuna melt is over £15, which is more than a tuna melt should ever be, but the foliage-filled, diner-like interior is a fun place to spend a lazy Sunday lunch. If you manage to get one of the cosy curtained booths you might even want to stick around for dinner. It feels very easy-breezy, with a mix of people sipping on lattes with their laptops, and groups sharing firecracker lobster noodles.

Arguably London’s prettiest rooftop, Seabird in Southwark is also home to the best oyster experience in the city.
