Located in the epic lobby of the new Ned hotel, Cecconi’s is a posh Italian restaurant that has the business lunch crowd locked down. It’s the second London site of the restaurant in Mayfair that’s a favourite with the oligarch and poorer rich people crowd (so, celebrities then) but here, it’s all about the suits and City folk. Most people who visit the hotel work in the area, and it’s one of the swankier options in what’s already a pretty plush situation. The lineup of pastas is solid and they’ll do you a good calamari, but don’t expect to still be talking about what you ate the next day. The overall experience is totally pleasant, but this is more convenient business lunch location than it is destination dining.
