Turns out London is really good at Italian restaurants, and Campania is one of the best around. Its picturesque setting off Columbia Road and old dairy shopfront mean its absolute Insta-heaven. We wouldn’t be surprised if a Campania filter is released soon enough, optimised for cobbles, candlelight and nonna making pasta. The food here is good though, particularly the pasta and mains, and it pretty much suits any occasion, if you can get a booking.

Martello Hall is an great bar-meets-pizza restaurant on Mare Street in Hackney. Bring your mates at the weekend, or visit it late night.
Chick ‘N’ Sours
The Haggerston branch of Chick ‘n’ Sours is the original, and still the best. Come here for cocktails and disco wings, and leave happy.

Palatino is a slick Italian restaurant in Clerkenwell with good pastas and sharing plates. Make sure you get the fried sage leaves.
Polpetto is a cool Soho Italian restaurant that’s all about the candlelight and intimate atmosphere. There is also pasta. And negronis.
