Some restaurants on Holloway Road have a tendency to hide in plain sight and Bisha is one of them. The Eritrean spot is about as low-key as they come, with tinted dark windows that hide generously flavoured and good-value platters of injera, awaze tibsi, and more. Family and friends fill the chintzy space as if it’s their own grandmother’s dining room and, once an enormous rainbow-coloured platter topped with alisha (yellow split peas), bamia (okra stew), and shiro (chickpea stew) hits your table, you’ll understand the temptation to lean back and undo your top button.
