Another week coming to an end, another guide to the exciting events you should check out in London right now. This weekend’s roundup has a new brunch opening serving everything from hazelnut maple praline and brown butter pancakes to shakshuka, plus a rooftop terrace in Peckham, a brisket pop-up in a park, and more.

Get Lost in a Labyrinth

Colourscape

This art installation and music festival happens yearly, and is a fun way to spend an hour in Clapham. Get involved in the multi-coloured walk-through labyrinths where you’ll find musicians playing, probably get lost, and get a nice shot for the gram. Book a ticket here, and after you’re done at the festival, take a short bus ride to The Landor and drink a pint (or three) in their excellent pub garden.

Queue Up for Some NYC Pancakes

Even if you say you don’t want brunch, when it gets to Sunday morning and you’re hungry, you will inevitably crave a meal that is neither breakfast nor lunch. When you do, head to Sunday in Brooklyn. This New York import has only just started serving its famous brunch, and it’s weekends only. You’ve no chance of actually booking a table, but they are reserving some for walk-ins. So if you’re prepared to wait, you can get those famous pancakes.

Remember all the time you planned to spend sipping martinis on a rooftop before the British weather humbled you? Well according to the weather app, this weekend is going to be above 20 degrees (hallelujah) which means it’s your chance to live the hot vax summer you deserve. Book a table at this new rooftop terrace in Peckham where you can get cocktails, bottomless brunch, and a view of London (hopefully with no rain).

Eat Some Brisket in the Park

Yes, lockdown meant everyone got tired of picnics in parks, and outdoor spaces in general, but the deeper we get into September, the closer we are to puffer-jacket-weather. So we suggest hanging out in parks until we’re all forced inside by the inevitable terrible British weather. Particularly parks that have good food and live music performances, AKA Pub In The Park. It’s on tour throughout September, but St Albans isn’t all that far away and it’ll be worth the journey to catch Cue Point serving some of their first class nacos (naan tacos). Book tickets here.

Eat, Drink, & Listen to Music at Central Park

We Are FSTVL - VIP Village

$$$$

How many festivals did you go to this “Summer” (read: scam of the century)? Yeah that’s what we thought - not enough. Well luckily there are still some VIP tickets available for We Are Fstvl in Dagenham’s Central Park, with a line up including Camelphat and Horse Meat Disco (no, we’re not making this up). Get a £20 ticket, turn up, eat, sing along, or don’t, and drink some more.
