Soho Will Be Pedestrianised From This Weekend

From July 4th, many of Soho’s busiest streets will be car-free, allowing restaurants and bars to open again.

July 3rd, 2020

Starting July 4th, certain Soho streets will be closed to cars. The move aims to allow more space for social distancing, so restaurants, pubs, and bars can operate safely.

What’s been dubbed ‘Super Saturday’, by some people who, assumedly, were once employed by Sky Sports, is the first step in what will hopefully allow many West End restaurants to offer outside dining. Most streets will be shut from 5pm until 11pm, but some of the closures will begin in the morning.

The closed streets include:

  • Old Compton Street

  • Greek Street

  • Frith Street

  • Dean Street

  • Bateman Street
