Reopenings: 10 Outdoor Food Markets You Can Visit Today

These markets have food vendors you can visit right now.

London restaurants will be reopening for dine-in service on the 4th July. While we understand that you might not feel ready to return to a dining room quite yet, we also understand that you may well be willing to eat in the general (and socially distant) vicinity of other human beings some time soon. Here are some outdoor food markets that have already reopened around the city.

  • Borough Market - Although the covered market remained open selling fresh produce to locals during lockdown, the ‘Green Market’ area is open on Fridays and Saturdays as more hot food is available to takeaway, including Nanny Fanny’s, Freeform bakery, and Kappacasein.

  • Brixton Village & Market Row - As of 15th June all green grocers, fishmongers, and other fresh produce stalls are open, as well as a handful of spots that are now serving hot food to takeaway, including Fish, Wings and Tings, Honest burger, and Kamome.

  • Camden Market - 80% of food traders are back, including vendors like Yorkshire Burrito, Basta, and Seventh Heaven. Open from 10am daily.

  • Greenwich Market - Open Thursday to Sunday, the market is back with takeaway food vendors like Steak and Chips, Da Fish Ting, and Milktree gelato. Open from 10am to 4.30pm.

  • Herne Hill Market - This Sunday market reopened June 14th. In order to enforce social distancing guidelines, only selected stalls will be up and running.

  • Lloyd Park Market - The farmers market in Walthamstow has been open every weekend since 23rd May. It’s just fresh produce on Saturdays, but Street Food Sundays include vendors like Kolkati, Hanoi Kitchen, and 2 Lads Kitchen. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm.

  • Mercato Metropolitano - This airy market located in Elephant and Castle is covered, so it’s not strictly outdoors. However it is cavernous, and it’s now reopened both its fresh produce and street food stalls. Food from vendors such as Guasa and Badiani Gelato is available from Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm to 10pm.

  • Netil Market - Netil Market is back, and so are popular street food stalls Bao, Oli Baba’s, The Bagel Guys, and others.

  • Tooting Market - Street food vendors in Tooting have reopened. The Lone Fisherman, Meza, and Toast are just some of the hot food offerings, available to takeaway every day of the week.

  • Venn Street Market - This fresh food market in Clapham Common is open every Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Street food stalls include Let’s Do Temaki, Hush Hush Chefs, and Saint Sugar Of London.
