On the back of the OTT successes of Gloria and Circolo Popolare, the Big Mamma Group is doubling down on spritz and chaotic wannabe Sorrentino vibes with a third mega location in Covent Garden. Ave Mario “takes Florence as its starting point” according to Hot Dinners while Eater London has the scoop on a “60cm tall ice cream cake” on the menu. Other entirely necessary features include a caviar selection, and more sincerely, two terraces and an inner courtyard. It opens next month.

A St. John’s Wood go-to for just under half a century, Harry Morgan’s fried its final latke last week. The north west Jewish deli first opened in 1948 and became a firm family favourite. Best known for its chicken soup and reuben bagels, the deli shut as the result of a rent dispute with the landlord.
