Finally everyone’s least favourite month is over (sorry Capricorns) which means you can stop exclusively agreeing to plans that involve a duvet and Deliveroo and start filling up your calendar. From a street party celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month, to London’s best pancakes to celebrate the big day, here are six exciting things to do this month.
Book One Of These Pubs To Watch The Six Nations
Buttermilk fried chicken, huge screens, and two pints of beer are some of the things you’ll find on the set menu at The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea and The George in Fitzrovia. Whether you want a private room to watch the rugby with a couple of mates (£50 per person), or a seat at the bar with a view of the game, you can book a spot at either one of these kind of fancy pubs here or here.
Let One Of London’s Most Romantic Restaurants Do All The Heavy Lifting For You
If the most romantic thing you’ve done for your partner is wait for them to get home before watching an episode of Love Island, then we’re just going to go out on a limb and assume Valentine’s Day isn’t your favourite day of the year. But instead of staying in (and watching Love Island) head to one of the spots on our guide to The Most Romantic Restaurants In London, which will provide more than enough romance, so you don’t have to.
Party In Brixton With Iconic Lesbian-Run Sound System Sistermatics
Brixton’s Market Row will host a street party on 17th February in celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month headed by Sistermatic—the UK’s first lesbian-run sound system who used to organise monthly club nights for queer black women in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Tickets are £5 after 8pm, or free before.
Afternoon Tea… But Make It Fashion
If the majority of your outfit inspo comes from Hailey Bieber’s Instagram feed mixed with whatever’s on sale at Asos, but you still want to get involved in London Fashion Week, hear us out. The Prêt-à-Portea afternoon tea at The Berkeley Hotel is a fun afternoon tea situation with a fashion-inspired twist. The desserts are decorated to look like floral gowns, camel-coloured coats, and a Self-Portrait handbag. It’s the perfect way to get involved without actually having to get involved.
Eat Your Way Through London’s Best Pancakes
Pancake Day is the new Christmas. Oprah Winfrey once said that… or something. Anyway this year it’s on 21st February and what better way to celebrate it than a crawl of London’s best pancake spots.
Celebrate National Margarita Day With Hacha’s Signature Mirror Margarita
If you were waiting for an excuse to try one of London’s best margaritas, you should know that 22nd February is National Margarita Day, which means it’s perfectly acceptable to go for a Wednesday night drink at Hacha. The breezy, unpretentious bar in Dalston is home to the famous mirror margarita. Their Brixton location also has bottled versions of the award-winning drink in case you’d rather take it home. Check out our guide to London’s best margaritas for more to try.
