Thim Hing Sandwich
Pull up to Thim Hing Sandwich around lunchtime—really any time—and you’ll see people carrying armfuls of plastic bags bulging with sandwiches out to their cars. This cash-only spot in Chinatown exports what appears to be a metric ton of bánh mì every day. Traditional fillings like pâté and grilled pork are stuffed inside of beautifully thin baguettes slathered in butter and mayonnaise. Bites where meatball jus softens the crispy bread corners are especially good, even through the cacophony of phone calls and a constantly dinging kitchen bell. Make sure to grab enough for the whole family, team, or neighborhood.
