The downtown location of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse functions and feels almost exactly like the original Galleria restaurant—one of the beautiful things about most Pappas-owned restaurants is they replicate their own concepts pretty flawlessly. The basic draws here are unwavering: in-house 28-day dry-aged steaks, a wine list miles long, top tier service (bonus points if the staff pulls out one of those little stainless steel table crumbers), and a pleasantly dark restaurant. Visit Pappas for a truly excellent steak, and to escape the office or whatever convention-scale group dinner you’re hoping to avoid.
