Eight Row Flint
Walking into Eight Row Flint in The Heights is sort of like when those kids in The Goonies stumble into that room full of pirate treasure, that is if you’re really into whiskey (or fancy booze in general). What was once a mid-century dry cleaning shop is now a fully-stocked bar—like ready to withstand nuclear fallout stocked—complete with a 25-page food and drink menu, hulking cask barrels full of delicious liquid, and more kinds of whiskey than you can shake a stick at, or something. That includes a rotating availability of proprietary barrels, some of which are named for the bar itself. You can also rent a locker, because that’s still a thing, and become That Whiskey Person. We all have our hobbies. You can also try Eight Row’s single-barrel solera, which is a constantly evolving blend of whiskey from every single barrel the bar’s ever had. While you can go there just to nerd out, Eight Row’s giant patio is also a great place to take a first date, enjoy a cheeseburger or some wings with a few friends, or grab a few Happy Hour drinks during the week.
