Today we give you a Friday Fives from Mr. Posting & Toasting himself, Walt Clyde Frazier.
Aside from being one of the best point guards that ever played the game, Clyde is the most entertaining broadcaster in the history of sports. His dexterity and creativity with the English language is unprecedented. He also added restaurateur to his resume recently, with the opening of Clyde Frazier's Wine & Dine on 10th Avenue. Steinthal got some quality Clyde time on a random Monday night this week, and he told us that (now that Knicks season is over) he'll be hanging out at the restaurant a lot, though thankfully not in the kitchen. As you'll see below, Clyde uses the George Foreman Grill quite a bit when cooking at home. We won't be going to dinner at his place anytime soon.
clyde's "perfect for" picks
"Amber has the best sushi in town. I always sit at the sushi bar and watch them prepare the food."
"By far, Robert's at Columbus Circle. It's on the 9th floor, so the view of the park is spectacular - especially at night with the city lights."
"Tiramisu on the corner of 80th and 3rd is a cool place to check out New Yorkers going by. In the summertime they have outdoor seating, which makes people watching even better. The pasta with chicken is sensational."
"Jacob's is in my neighborhood, so it's real convenient. Mouth-watering soul food, and they have lots of healthy choices as well."
"Okay this is definitely Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine. We have our signature cocktails with my rhymes such as "Winning & Grinning" and "Moving & Grooving." There are TVs throughout the bar, a lounge, and a restaurant, so you can check out one of your favorite sporting events. You'll also find me there most days meeting and greeting."
"Eli's on 3rd and 80th is where I buy my fish to prepare at home. Their salmon steak, sword fish, and tuna are always on my George Foreman Grill."
