As much as we want to take a trip to a Caribbean island for the weekend, we're not actually living in that kind of reality. We can always pretend though, by grabbing a six pack of Red Stripe and throwing on the latest tunes from Viceroy. It may not be dipping your toes in turquoise water, but at least we're in the right state of mind.

Viceroy's sound is self proclaimed ""Summertime, All The Time," you know, it's the musical version of that frozen, sugary beverage you enjoy on the beach, filled with booze, happiness, and frozen bananas.

Believe it or not, Viceroy does not hail from Jamaica or Ibiza. He's from right here in tropical San Francisco. Viceroy has been taking the hipster-dance world by storm lately, remixing all kinds of good tunes, and steadily putting out good tunes of his own consistently. If you subscribe to our monthly Spotify playlist, then you're definitely familiar.

Born Austen Afridi, Viceroy cares a great deal about what he's eating. Check out his SF restaurant picks below, and to keep up with the latest, follow Viceroy on Twitter and tune into his Soundcloud, where he's constantly posting new mixes and tracks.

viceroy's "Perfect for" Picks

Palm House Perfect For: Getting Tropical 2032 Union St

"The perfect and only way to start this list. Delicious tropical influenced cuisine with drinks to pair leaving you wanting more. You have to try to tuna ceviche and the Jamaican jerk chicken with a chipotle mango margarita. "

Chubby Noodle Perfect For: Noodles On Noodles 2205 Lombard St.

"I love restaurants that take a classic cuisine and update it without sacrificing its character. This fusion noodle house does exactly that. Try the spicy garlic noodles and Korean pork tacos."

Elephant Sushi Perfect For: Sushi For Days 380 Golden Gate Ave

"It’s no secret that San Francisco has some of the best in the US. It’s extremely impressive when a sushi bar sticks out from the bunch, and Elephant Sushi is truly one of a kind. They are unique, and they take this stuff really seriously. You have to try the flaming sea bass and The Beastie Boys."

The Corner Store Perfect For: Brunch 5 Masonic Ave

"The Corner Store (5 Masonic Ave): If you love brunch (boozy or not) San Francisco has endless possibilities. My favorite is the Corner Store. The atmosphere, Bloody Mary’s and their burger with biscuits are out of this world. It’s the best burger I’ve ever had I kid you not."

Nick's Crispy Tacos Perfect For: Taco Tuesdays 1500 Broadway St.

"I couldn’t make this list without giving props to our amazing Mexican cuisine. There is a lot of competition on Taco Tuesdays, but one place reigns supreme: Nick’s Crispy Tacos. The line is crazy, but if you get there early you have to order two fish tacos. Make sure you get them Nick’s way, which is a crispy, and soft tortilla loaded with the works. "
