Newsflash: THE LEAGUE IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TELEVISION. And if you don't know, now you do. Just an FYI, it's not just about fantasy football. It's about life. And love. And friendship. And parenting. And unicorns. And dick punching. This is a comedy for everyone. If you're someone who (still) enjoys It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, you'll appreciate The League. End rant.
Today's Friday Fives guest is one of the stars of The League, Steve Rannazzisi, a hilarious comedian, lover of great restaurants, David Chang junkie, and die hard NY sports fan. Steve was nice enough to pony up his NYC picks, which is pretty much an Infatuation greatest hits list and reminds us that we need reviews for the original Patsy's and Grimaldi's.
The 7th and final season of The League will air in FX later this year. Stay tuned.
steve's "Perfect for" picks
“My favorite because it’s just great food, I love everything D. Chang does, and that’s perfect for Date Night, straight up, fancy, I like to go out and try different things. It’s always a great meal. The pork buns are out of this world. I just want to continuously have them in my life.”
“Old school Italian joint, the original Patsy’s. The service is great and the servers always have absurd, long, pretty hilarious stories. The food is delicious and my parents eat this place up.”
“I like to go Nobu and sit at the bar by myself. The Fox News people roll in there all the time and I like to stare at them down, and make faces at them as if they were were on TV. Half kidding. The real reason to come is because the fish is, still, after all these years, delicious and you can’t really beat it in NYC. You may not be able to get a table on a whim, but you can always grab a seat at the bar when you roll solo.”
“I. Love. Their. Pizza. Magic comes out of that Grimaldi’s coal oven. It’s my favorite.”
“I do stand-up, so I can come to The Spotted Pig after shows, at like 11:30pm/midnight and always know I’ll be able to have a great meal in a fun environment. The menu is always changing, but the staples are always on, and the new stuff is always consistently delicious. You can’t beat the atmosphere, either.”
