Yes indeed, this is the same Simon Rex you remember from MTV in its mid 90's heyday, back when he was crushing the VeeJay game and owning the hearts of teenagers across the country. Or maybe you don't remember him at all, because you were f*cking born in the mid 90's and the word "veejay" means something entirely different to you. Either way, Simon is all grown up now. These days, he's an actor, a DJ, and a (clearly) very serious hip hop emcee known on the streets as Dirt Nasty. He's got songs like "Lookin' For A Nasty Girl" and "F*ck Me I'm Famous," both of which are obviously poignant examples of social commentary.
Simon's acting career most recently found a home in the Scary Movie franchise, which (in case you lost track) is now up to installment number five. The newest Scary Movie came out this week, and is surely entertaining baked college kids all over the nation as we speak. With an all-star cast of jokers like Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex and Snoop Dogg/Lion/whatever, how could it possibly fail?
This Fives came about because Rex enjoys getting "dirt nasty" on some tacos. As a matter of fact, he could have probably done an all tacos fives if we had asked for it. But instead, Simon gave us a rundown of his typical LA eats routine. To keep up with the latest, follow Mr. D. Nasty Rex himself on Twitter.
simon's "perfect for" picks
"My favorite taco in LA is Leo's Taco Truck. Roasted spit (at night only) and small pork mini tacos with a slice of pineapple. Perfection. I'm the only white guy there. Besides the cops."
"Fish Grill on Beverly in the Jewish neighborhood will blow fish your mind. Kosher and oh so perfecto. Most slept on spot in town. I'm Jewish, so maybe I'm biased."
"Dim Sum in Chinatown, downtown LA. A never-ending delicious authentic plethora of perfection in a warehouse sized room. Just do it. Sunday Morning is the best time to go."
"No better place to drink and feel European than at this legendary landmark. And the food is good, even when you're not drunk."
"$20 all you can eat, and it's full of celebrities. I'm not a Scientologist, and I wont get into the politics - just go do it."
