Today we have Friday Fives from Ronnie Higgins and Rob Guevara, the bartenders of Fox Bar at Soho House. The guys have been serving drinks at some of our favorite bars the last couple years, including Bar Deville, Bangers & Lace, and Revel Room..
Fox Bar might be tiny, but Ronnie and Rob have given it a bit of their own personality, which makes it a fun place to hang. They're also hosting Stupid Theme Parties every month, which you can learn more about through the Eat Drink Nap app. Check out this Saturday's Valentines Day party, complete with love jams, drinks specials, and, of course, Ronnie and Rob behind the bar. Don't miss their Friday Fives below, particularly their pick for Quality Fish.
"Fiores, hands down. Best damn subs and service with a smile. It’s a family owned and operated Italian delicatessen in West Town that’s been around since the ‘70s. We’ve been eating there since we were teenagers. We’re either sopressotta or pastrami guys, so that’s our go-to sub, plus all the fixins."
"We’re bartenders so we gotta put a bar on here. Map Room is our longtime favorite beer bar. They have a massive beer selection, one of the best in the city. Knowledgeable bar staff and a lively ambiance."
"It’s a small space with a diner feel, so it’s welcoming and good for solo eats. They make Tex-Mex comfort food that’s extra comforting after a night of imbibing. Get the pozole or the migas omelet."
"Not a restaurant but they brew excellent coffee and bake bangin’ pastries. Get the Belgian waffle or raspberry salted scone and down ‘em with their Nitro Cold Brew. Enjoy in front of their large storefront windows to peep Division Street’s finest."
"It’s a Chicago institution, in business since 1948. Great smoked and fried fish, all theirs and almost all from the Great Lakes. The fried catfish dinner and smoked shrimp are always on point. It’s a no-fuss, classic Chicago spot. That’s why we like it."
