There’s a very specific reason that I stayed in last Friday night and didn’t get off the couch for five hours, not even to throw away the truly disgusting delivery sushi I ordered. (It was from a place called Zest. I should have known.) That reason is Master Of None, a new Netflix show created by Aziz Ansari that is the best depiction of the current state of living, dating, and eating in New York that we’ve seen.
One of the most delightful parts of the show? Noël Wells, who plays Rachel, a music publicist who starts dating Aziz’s character Dev. She’s cool, funny, and incredibly real.
You might also know Noël from her stint on SNL, or for a million other comedy things she’s been involved with. Check out her excellent and vegetarian-friendly restaurant picks below.
“In college I interned in NYC over the summer and I was broke as hell. Once a week I’d collect all my change and trek to Vanessa’s all the way from Washington Heights just so I could eat a hot tasty meal that would fill me up.”
“When I’m trying to be healthy, there’s nothing I love more than going to whatever Westville location I’m closest to and ordering four orders of veggies off their sides menu for a dinner.”
“I used to live next door to this Israeli coffee shop and I’d eat here every morning. They have the best coffee and a for a long time, the staff were the only friends I had in NYC (sad or awesome?)”
“My mouth explodes just thinking about their Egg, pancetta, and avocado sandwich (hold the meat, please).”
“Right next to stages where we shot Master of None. Lots of fun corners to get drunk with friends.”
