The James Beard Awards are on Monday and this year, the Foundation is upping their internet game. For the first time ever, the entire awards show will be live-streamed and they've also hand selected two pretty awesome "bloggers" to live blog it for them. Infatuation in the building.
We've never been to the Beard awards before and probably don't have much business being there. To be quite honest, we haven't heard of many of the non-NYC nominees before, so this should make for some fun commentary.
One nominee we're all kinds of familiar with is big daddy pasta himself, Michael White. Last year, his restaurant, Marea, took home Best New Restaurant and he's up for Best Chef in NY this year, which he should absolutely win. If you read this website, you know how we feel about this guy. His pastas = insanity. Consistently the best in NYC, no contest.
