MG Siegler

MG Siegler! If you're a nerd, as I am, you know this is a monster coup for Infatuation SF. NY can keep their models and [massive celebrities (http://www.theinfatuation.com/friday-fives/seth-rogen). We'll take our tech-blogger-turned-investors.

In all seriousness, MG has been writing smart sh*t on the internet for a long time. He's one of the few writers that consistently has something original and incisive to say — after reading an MG piece, we often see things a little bit differently, whether it's Snapchat, the Apple Watch, or the hellacious annoyance of email. He now rolls bills for Google Ventures, which is doing OK with Uber, Nest, Slack and the like.

Given that the man appears to have good taste, it's no surprise that his food game is strong. Le Garage and Sushi Ran? Nice deep cuts across the bridge. If you're looking to catch MG stateside, perhaps stroll by Alta CA — we hear he's put some money where his mouth is.

Quality Fish

Sushi Ran (107 Caledonia St., Sausalito, CA) -

Bonus Round

Classic SF Establishment

House of Prime Rib (1906 Van Ness Ave) - "You sit down, pick a cut, and they wheel around giant slabs of meat that they cut right in front of you. You can keep going until you literally pass out."

Quick Eats

Nick's Crispy Tacos (1500 Broadway St.) - "If you like fish tacos, these are the best in the city. Get them "Nick's way" and get a lot of napkins."

Special Shoutout

Alta CA (1420 Market St.) - "Best investors in the city ;)"

MG's "perfect for" Picks

South Beach Cafe Perfect For: Cheap Eats 800 The Embarcadero

"When my fiancée and I lived in SoMa, this was our go-to spot for a low-key, well-priced meal. We'd mainly stick to pizza, but the pasta looks solid as well. Everyone who works there seems to be actually Italian, and I know that because soccer (futbol) is almost always on the television."

Le Garage Perfect For: Brunch 85 Liberty Ship Way

"Just over the bridge in Sausalito, this is hands-down my favorite brunch place in the area and I'd gladly make the drive (or ferry trip) to make it happen on a weekend. Everything is French, and I always go with the mussels."

Mercury Cafe Perfect For: Coffee & A Light Bite 201 Octavia St

"When I'm in Hayes Valley, this is my go-to spot to work from. Great iced lattes and even better light bite food. I love the salami sandwich, but if you get there before 11am, go with the Egg McMercury."

Zuni Cafe Perfect For: Late Night Eats 1658 Market St.

"Best burger in the city. But you have to show up after 10pm to get it."

Sushi Ran Perfect For: Quality Fish 107 Caledonia St

“Hey, sushi is fish, right? And Sushi Ran is the freshest sushi I’ve found in the Bay Area that can stand up to places in Japan. Again, it’s over the bridge, but worth the trip. Sit at the sushi bar and get the omakase for sure.”
