In New York City, it doesn’t matter whether you “care about” fashion or not. It’s impossible not to notice what the cool people are wearing. And whether or not you know it by name, you’ve probably seen cool people wearing Public School. It’s a mens and womenswear label started by two born and bred New Yorkers, whose clothing is inspired by their experience growing up in, and dressing themselves for, their Brooklyn and Queens public schools.
So if you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to be the creator of clothing worn by cool people, today’s Friday Fives come from Maxwell Osborne, one half of the vision behind Public School. Unsurprisingly, he has some excellent New York City restaurant picks, which he’ll school you on (sorry) down below.

“As a native New Yorker and a lover of pizza you always have to have a favorite slice on the move. There is a short list of great NYC slices but joes is on top for nostalgic reasons.”

“R - A - O !! No explanation needed.”
“Hands down one of my favorite Cuban places in NYC! As someone who spent a most of his time downtown it's quite refreshing to get out of city and eat well.”
“Booze, Pizza, pasta, and good people in Harlem! This is my favorite for when you want to have a night without too much thought and you want to gather everyone in one location. From the food to the staff they make it hard to actually leave there.”

“These guys can do NO wrong when it comes to tacos...”

“Has been my most frequented sushi restaurant since it's opening here in NYC. Fresh fish, new and classic flavors including some inventive dishes.”
