Is it possible to like a person more than Kristen Bell? Trick question, not possible. The actress, singer, and person we really want to drink with has basically been in every movie you've loved for the past 10 years and shows zero signs of changing that up. Catch Kristen in The Boss, premiering in theaters nationwide today. We know we'll be.
But when she's not messing with Jason Segel's head in Hawaii or building snowmen with volatile sisters, Kristen's eating her way through LA, and today she stopped by to give us her top picks in the city. And trust us, her answers do not disappoint. Check them all out below.
My husband and I often venture to this cozy Brazilian restaurant when we are able to steal time for a date night. The vibe is effortlessly cool while remaining nice and respectful, like Jon Snow in every Jon Snow storyline. When I was 21 I lived in Brazil for three months. I fell in love with the country and the food. Tropicalia is the only place I've found that's truly authentic to the traditional cuisine. I love their veggie combo plate and my husband loves the Chicken Tropicalia. We've been trying to replicate their rice and beans at our house for years and it can't be done. The food and experience is charming, intimate and delicious (Jon Snow!)
Griffith Park is right down the street, so you can sweat it out on a hike and grab a healthy meal afterwards without feeling like you undid all of your hard work. My go to is their Moroccan Lentils and Eggs, but I also love their Tamales Racheros and the Chickpea sandwich. Everything is unique and flavorful. I'm a vegetarian, but I have multiple sources that say the Bison Meatloaf sandwich is everything your mom's meatloaf is trying to be.
Lucifer's Pizza serves as our family's "congrats" meal, our "condolences" meal, our "it's friday, fuck it" meal, etc. Whatever is happening, we will find an excuse to spoil ourselves with Lucifers . You can customize the heat level of each pizza, so we are able to appease both the 1 year old and the 41 year old in the house. It, also, offers a variety of options, such as gluten free crust and vegan cheese. And though we greatly appreciate the openness to dietary restrictions, it does seem oddly respectful for a Hell based pizza company.
Lunch, Dinner, Snack, take out, sit down, stand up...it doesn't matter. Sqirl is perfect all around. I tend to order 75% of their entire menu. Everything they offer is somehow both light and hearty. You can't really go wrong, except if you forget to order the Jam stuffed French Toast. That would be terribly wrong.
This is a very unassuming Thai place that is immediately unforgettable once you've tasted its goods. It has some of the best Pho I've ever eaten and the Tom Kha Udon is incredible as well. It's no frills, solidly confident, and wonderful (Jon Snow!)
