When he’s not going on 50-mile runs, Kevin Weil is at work in his role as the Head of Product at Instagram. After seven years at Twitter, Kevin made the move south to the ‘gram in March. Weil started at Twitter in 2009 as a data scientist, rose to head of revenue products, and then SVP of Product. Besides being a product guru, Kevin’s also a diehard Diet Mountain Dew advocate, extremely interested in particle physics, and an all-around super nice guy.
Kevin also knows his food. You need to eat a lot of steaks and pasta to fuel those long runs and even longer product meetings, and his picks are some of our favorite places in the city.
Usually this is where we plug a person’s app or company, but we’re pretty sure you all already have Instagram. You can follow Kevin on Twitter and IG where you will be delighted by posts of his cute son and feel shame about your own physical fitness when you see he runs more in a day than you do in a month. Goals, people, goals.
kevin's "perfect for" picks
"One of my favorite wine bars in the city, with generous appetizers. The wait staff is knowledgeable, the wine list changes often, and it's always full of rare and intriguing wines."
"It's hard to beat this Japanese-inspired steakhouse, where you can start with Hamachi shooters and Sea Salt Edamame and finish with an outstanding steak."
"I took my team to this amazing Ethiopian restaurant in its original Tenderloin location, which was unfortunately lost to a fire months later. Now they're back at the corner of 9th and Minna, and the food couldn't be more delicious."
"When you want to splurge, it's hard to beat Cotogna—great food, great wine list, fun ambience, and excellent service."
"A great restaurant in the Tenderloin that always challenges my boundaries. I recommend the Beef Tendon Puffs."
