Ever since the Modern Family days, we've been big fans of Jesse Tyler Ferguson - and we would have loved to have had his Friday Fives at any point. But right now seems like a pretty perfect time.

Starting in April and running through the end of July, Jesse is starring in a one-man show on Broadway, in which he plays a guy answering the reservation line at an extremely trendy New York City restaurant. The play, Fully Committed, is a parody of NYC restaurant culture - and we definitely intend on seeing it.

Outside of Broadway, Jesse knows what's what when it comes to restaurants too - we agree that the Mission Chinese wait is usually worth it. Check out his favorite spots below.

Jesse's "perfect For" Picks

Cafe Gitane Perfect For: Lunch In Between Shopping in Soho. 242 Mott St.

This has always been my favorite café in NYC. It used to be my go to date spot back when I was a desirable bachelor. Now I go with my husband. As I grow up, one thing always remains the same: The Couscous with Chicken is AMAZING!

Mission Chinese Food Perfect For: The Name Says It All. Mission: Chinese. 171 E. Broadway

This Chinatown restaurant has a great vibe and simply AMAZING Chinese food. Chef Danny Bowien has created a totally unique and bold menu while never staying too far away from the traditional cuisine that inspired his dishes. It is sometimes hard to get a table here but the wait is worth it.

The NoMad Perfect For: The Fanciest And Tastiest Roast Chicken In NYC 1170 Broadway

Not only is this one of the prettiest restaurants in NYC, it also has an amazing bar that serves beautiful cocktails. The Roasted Chicken stuffed with Foie Gras always blows me away. Who knew chicken could taste so rich!

Joe Allen Perfect For: After-Theater Dining & Star Gazing 326 W 46th St

The definition of a New York Classic. Other midtown restaurants come and go but Joe Allen will always be the original theater district watering hole. The food is delicious, the martinis are strong, and there is a good chance you will be sitting next to a Broadway legend. The last time I was there for lunch Linda Lavin cozied up to say hi to me. Needless to say, I was in heaven.

ABC Kitchen Perfect For: A Special Brunch With The Family 35 E. 18th St.

When Justin and I got married we told our planner that we wanted the dining room to look like ABC Kitchen. This restaurant inside ABC Carpet & Home is one of my favorite places in NYC. There was a summer when I saw Sofia Vergara there almost every time I went! (We both LOVE the Kale Cesar Salad.) It is a fantastic brunch place to impress out of towners with. It’s just fancy enough without being stuffy and the food is to die for!
