Giuliana Rancic

Giuliana Rancic

The Internet is a wild place. One day we’re writing a fake letter to Giuliana Rancic and the next day she’s sharing her favorite Chicago restaurants with us. We’re big fans of the two restaurants she owns, RPM Italian and RPM Steak, but we did poke a bit of harmless fun at her while giving praise at the same time in our reviews. We love that Giuliana got a kick out of it and in turn wanted to do a Friday Fives.

Giuliana first came to fame for her work as a host on E! News, but she’s since decided to leave the show to further focus on her other business ventures. These days, Giuliana is a permanent Chicago resident, and, in addition to the restaurants, runs a production company with her husband, a successful clothing line, G by Giuliana on the Home Shopping Network, and a wine brand called Xo,G. Make sure to holler at Giuliana on Twitter and Instagram, and check out her Friday Fives below.

Giuliana's "Perfect for" Picks

Bub City Perfect For: BBQ Fix 435 N Clark St

“Are the chicken wings amazing? Heck yeah! Are the Spice-Rubbed Ribs so good they’re stupid? You betcha! But the thing that makes my head spin every single bite is the Sweet Potato Fluff. Perfectly prepped sweet potato with a riduclous amount of melted fluffy marshmallow on top. I can’t figure out if it’s technically a side or a dessert. Whatever it is, I’ll have two. Oh, and did i mention there’s live music on most nights? Perfect spot if you’re looking for a fun and casual night out with friends.”

3 Arts Club Cafe Perfect For: Eat/Shop/Sleep 1300 N. Dearborn St.

“You don’t have to be in the market for a new sofa to spend a couple of hours at this Restoration Hardware. The new flagship gallery (don’t you dare call it a store) on Dearborn is filled to the brim with the gorgeous furniture we have all grown to love but it’s their restaurant that’s all the buzz. 3 Arts is nestled in a stunning atrium with gorgeous natural light and a healthy and tasty menu. The booths here are the opposite of the hard tufted leather you find at most restaurants. Here, plush and comy sofas out of the RH catalogue double as booths. Warning: You may fall asleep at the table. No joke, two people did this past week.”

RPM Steak Perfect For: Power Lunch 66 W Kinzie St

“You knew at least one of the RPMs had to be on my list, right? As much as I love RPM Italian for dinner, Steak is the spot for a power lunch to close your next deal. And ladies, don’t let the word “steak” fool you. The salads and grilled fish options make for the perfect light fare, especially when you’re saving your calories for the delectably sweet cocktail list, my favorites are the Spiced Pineapple sans alcohol or PampleMule, made of vodka, grapefruit and ginger beer. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right?”

Intelligentsia Coffee Perfect For: 1233 N. Wells St.

“This coffee spot doesn’t play. If the $50,000 espresso machine (yes, i asked) doesn’t convince you, just take a sip of the perfectly brewed lattes being served at this bright and airy Old Town location. Whether your rushing in to grab your morning joe or looking for a spot to send email and get some work done, this is the place for you.”

The Original Pancake House Perfect For: 22 E Bellevue Pl

“Once you finally get a table at this beloved breakfast joint (expect a wait on the weekend) good luck trying not to order the Apple Pancake when you notice the waitress set one on the table next to yours. This pancake is ginourmous (not a word but necessary to make my point.) I don’t want to know the calorie count for this baby and trust me, neither do you. Just eat that, or the Dutch Baby, or even the fluffiest omelette you’ve ever had, and enjoy.”
