We love Alison Brie. She's easily one of the most likable Hollywood actresses out there right now, thanks to her roles as Trudy in Mad Men and Annie in Community (which recently earned her the title of "secret weapon" for both shows and the cover of Wired Magazine. We also very much enjoyed her in the underrated indie flick Save The Date. That's one to put on your on demand hit list, if you haven't seen it.
Aside from being a talented actress, Alison can sing too. Along with her cohorts Cyrina Fiallo and Julianna Guil, they perform semi-impromptu, sometimes humorous, and always harmonious shows as The Girls.
And top of being talented, charitable, and generally awesome, Alison also happens to have great taste in restaurants as you're about to see in this Friday Fives. Sushi Seki? APPROVED.
alison's "Perfect for" Picks
"Very intimate setting and great wine. When I'm on a date, there's nothing I like more than cozying up to my fella with cheeks flush from a good Cabernet. Plus they're happy to plate entrees perfectly in half so you can share."
"People love the brunch here, but I've only been for dinner, and every time, I end up getting every small plate on the menu. Impress your LA friends with their local, organic food - there's a countertop with fresh veggies visible from most tables, in case you doubted the place's freshness. Plus it looks cool."
"I go here almost every time I'm in town, get drunk on sake, and eat TONS of fish. Omakase is the only way to go. They'll serve you til you say stop. Totally casual, unassuming atmosphere."
"I once ate so much here that I made myself sick - but only because everything was SO GOOD! If you're in the mood to really go nuts, the tasting menu plus wine pairing is totally worth it. Just come with an empty stomach."
"I had the perfect brunch here on a super chilly weekday afternoon. Pretty sure it was technically "lunch" because they only serve brunch on weekends, but if you can still get a breakfast sandwich, that's brunch enough for me. Warm and cozy inside, made me wish I lived in this neighborhood."
