Thanks to science and Facebook, we all know by now that the only way to get people to read (see, click) something is turn it into a list. How else wouldbe tell each other about the food we like to eat? For example, just try togive us about your favorite burritos in San Francisco without using a slideshow. Can't do it can you? Those burritos might as well not exist.
So, in the spirit of journalism, we're getting into the list game too. Here is our list of the absolute best lists of best tacos in New York. You won't believe what these people are saying.
1. Time Out New York: New York's 25 Best Tacos
We love arbitrary numbers, and that's why we love this list of tacos the most. Here are exactly 25 taco photos, accompanied by words like "piquant." That's how you list stuff.
2. Zagat: The 38 Best Tacos In NYC
Another seemingly arbitrary amount of tacos for a list, though this apparently was part of some kind of game in which letter grades are given, kind of like a P.E. class. We give this list a B+.
3. First We Feast: The 10 Best Tacos In NYC
Now we're talking. A list of ten. We're much more comfortable in this range. We know how many ten is because that's how many fingers we have.
4. Epicurious: The 10 Best Tacos In America
A list of the 10 best tacos in the whole America seems like a daunting task, but that's probably why they got 10 people to do it. Wait, does that mean this is a list of 100?
5. Gothamist: The 9 Best Taco Joints in NYC
This list is cool because it's a definitive 9. Like, at first there was probably 10, but then they were like, nah, and cut one.
6. CBS New York: NYC's 5 Best Tacos
The absolute five best tacos in New York.
7. CBS New York: NYC's 7 Best Tacos
No. The absolute seven best tacos in New York.
8. Eater New York: New York's 12 Awesomest Tacos
We're down with this one because these aren't the best tacos, they're the awesomest tacos. There's a difference, and there's a map.
9. Tasting Table: Taco The Town
Nope, can't do it. Can't get past the pun.
10. Grub Street: 33 Knockout New York Tacos
We would have also accepted "nifty" or "dy-no-mite."
