Much like that friend of yours who randomly got really into Scandinavian design, Gather keeps things very minimal. It’s a small restaurant at Eastern Market with a short menu, four long communal tables, and almost no decorations to speak of. Also like that same friend, there isn’t much rhyme or reason to the food here, but everything from the roasted root vegetables to the smoked chicken nachos and gnocchi is really good. Come here with a small group to split some plates and have a few boozy slushees.

Takoi is a Thai restaurant in Corktown that looks like where Deckard would’ve taken Rachel on a first date in Blade Runner.
