Casual spots where you can easily stop in for pasta and a glass of wine are useful to know about, and if you’re in River North, Torchio is a solid option for both of these things. The pastas are made in house, and you’ll find dishes like cacio e pepe, spaghetti carbonara, and tagliatelle with a pretty tasty bolognese served in a parmesan basket that, unfortunately, sounds better than it is. None of them are worth going out of your way for, but just fine if you’re in the neighborhood. The space is small and gets pretty loud, so don’t come here expecting to work on your novel.
