The Vig

The Vig in Old Town calls itself a “sports parlor.” And while we’re not exactly sure what that’s supposed to mean, it apparently equates to vintage sports decor, lots of TVs, booze, and food that doesn’t typically exist on a bar menu. This includes Thai tuna steak or turkey burgers with harissa aioli. The effort to do something different is appreciated, but the food is just ok. Despite the tuna steak coming with avocado, radish, tomato, clementine, and a chili lime sauce, there isn’t much flavor, while the bland turkey burger is only saved by the tangy harissa aioli. But if you’re only looking for a place to drink and watch the game, then the cavernous space more than suffices. And if you really want a snack, the umami wings are actually pretty good.
