With its iconic Ferris wheel, beautiful lakeside views, and wide array of events from concerts to high school proms, Streeterville's Navy Pier is a Chicago institution. It's also a massive tourist sinkhole that's usually as unpleasant as a packed CTA car during rush hour on a Monday morning. But regardless of why you're here, there's always plenty to do and eat. Though the food on the pier isn't mind-blowing, a burger from Billy Goat Tavern or some deep dish from Giordano's can help you get through a ride on the carousel or an IMAX showing of the new Disney Earth 2-hour-long special about sloths. You can also consult our Navy Pier Survival Guide for other ideas on how to handle your time here.
