Machetes Big Quesadillas

We admit that this spot’s name doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Machetes Big Quesadillas specializes in Machetes—essentially a giant gordita/quesadilla hybrid measuring around 12 to 24 inches. This casual counter-service in Archer Heights offers three sizes (including a mini one cutely called a “machete baby”) and a long list of flavorful fillings to choose from, ranging from nopales to conchita pibil. Each machete is made to order, comes with cheese, and can be customized with salsas, sour cream, and veggies like lettuce and onion from their toppings bar. It’s an ideal option for a quick bite after work, or anytime you want to eat something spicy that involves lots of melted cheese.
